The Advent Calendar Workshop a few weeks ago was so much fun. It has made me even more excited for my next workshop in January. I was surrounded by family and friends, both old and new. We all had a great time creating our Advent Calendars while mingling and eating some yummy treats. Take a look at all the fun that was had crafting with new tools and winning some pretty awesome prizes.

This is my mom and amazing sisters — minus one. Even though they don’t have the passion for crafting like I do, they are always there to help me with all of my creative adventures. I have the best family in the world and am so grateful for their willingness to always step in and help. Even my dad gets roped into projects (like cutting all the pine boughs) and helps with a smile. I always think I have things under control and I’ve paced myself to get everything ready on time, but I’m always wrong and they gladly swoop in to lighten the load and save the day. I love them to pieces and don’t know what I would do without them.
We snacked on yummy treats all night. They were even requested for the next workshop. I’ll go for that. :)
Each table was set up for the different hanging ornaments of the advent calendar. A sample along with the tools and list of sponsors were at each table. A huge thank you to all our sponsors* who donated some of the product used that evening. It wouldn’t have been possible without you.
I had so many amazing prizes to give out. There was winning all night long.
Winner winner chicken dinner! The grand prize winner, Ashlee. She won a Silhouette Portrait that was so generously donated by Silhouette. Everyone had their eyes on this bad boy all night. Can you blame them?
Check out some of these other prizes donated by Pebbles in my Pocket and Whisker Graphics. I’m telling you, there was a ton of good stuff on that prize table.
Each person received a kit when they arrived full of all their pieces needed for the calendar. Everything was pre-cut using the Silhouette, and ready to assemble.
We used the Silhouette Portrait to cut out all the number stickers for the calendar. Here we are using their printable gold foil labels. It’s pretty much a giant sticker sheet of gold foil. Heaven! It’s on sale right now as part of their Black Friday deal along with their amazing machines. You can find a link in the sidebar to check it all out.
The envelope punch tool from We R Memory Keeps was new to everyone attending. This simple tool can create envelopes of any size with a few punches and score marks. It’s amazing! I dare say it was well loved. After trying it, many left wanting one.
Oh, the gold foil… This project was a hit. But I’m sure that’s no surprise to you. I’ll be posting a tutorial on this technique on my blog soon. It’s so easy it’s not even funny. I think most were surprised by how simple it really was.
That’s all folks. A huge thank you to all those who came to the workshop. I had the best time and hope to see you all at the next one in January.
