DIY plastic Bowls with vinyl

As promised, today I’m showing another way to use Silhouette Premium Vinyl. I found these cute plastic bowls and plates at Ikea. They come in a pack of four and cost about $1.50. I couldn’t pass them up. This project was so easy and was finished in minutes. Cut any shape out of vinyl and place on the containers like you would a sticker. That’s it! You’re done! I’ve decided to share a free .svg download of basic shapes to get you started. Note: You need to have the designer edition of the Silhouette software to import the cut file.

I think these little bowls will look great on my desk holding odds and ends. They would also work well for holding wrapped candy and small treats at a party.

Garden Markers Tutorial + Silhouette Discount Code

I’m so anxious to share some fun projects I have been working on using Silhouette Premium Vinyl. Silhouette has a great promotion for their Premium Vinyl going on this week and I have all the details and a promotional discount code for you. Each day during the promotion I’ll be featuring a new project using the Silhouette Vinyl. All the projects I’ll be featuring are made from one single roll of 9 in x 10 ft Premium Vinyl. You’ll be amazed at how much you can create with just one roll. This was my first time using vinyl and let me tell you, it is so EASY!

garden marker tutorial

We’ve all seen vinyl used on projects for inside our home, but did you know it works well for those outdoor projects too? Let’s start out the week of vinyl projects with these garden markers. I’ll be planting my first garden this year and I’m so excited. I hope I can actually grow something. If nothing else, at least I’ll have cute markers at the head of each row.

  • Paint Stir Sticks
  • Silhouette Cutting Machine
  • Silhouette Premium Vinyl
  • Fruit and Vegetable Icons
  • Paint

  1. Paint each stir stick the color of your fruit or vegetable. To save paint, I only painted the top half of the stick that would be seen above the dirt.
  2. Using your Silhouette machine, cut fruit and vegetable icons out of Silhouette Premium Vinyl.
  3. Peel off each icon and apply it to the stick with coordinating color.
  4. Place it in the ground to mark your crops.

Let’s get on to the promotion!

If any of you have been thinking of buying a Silhouette or trying their vinyl this is a great offer. The Silhouette Premium Vinyl comes in 9 in x 10 ft rolls so it works well with both the Silhouette Portrait and Cameo. Silhouette recently cut the price of their Premium Vinyl from $14.99 down to $9.99. This promotion is 25% off the already low price of $9.99.

I love the black and white vinyl rolls because you can use them on any color of project. They also have great colored vinyl too. The transfer paper makes adhering phrases to surfaces a breeze. I’ll have a tutorial on that with an upcoming project in the week.
