I have not blogged for a while and those of you following me on Instagram have seen why. I just had a baby a month ago and am still getting used to life with three. My little Reese is the sweetest baby and it’s hard to imagine our life before her. My boys are so in love with her and love to give her kisses and hugs all day. How could you not want to kiss those chubby cheeks! They sing to her when she cries and love to take care of her. She gets these big eyes with a terrified look on her face when she hears them near. Haha! I don’t blame her. At 2 years old, their kisses are wet and their hugs aren’t always soft. They do adore her though, and I am so happy.
I originally made all of these flowers I’ve been featuring on my blog for a piece of art to hang in Reese’s room. I love the versatility of them and hope you have enjoyed using them as well.
My sister had her first baby a few days after me. How fun is that! This is the invitation for her shower (address is fake) along with little party favors. I used the spring bouquets and blossoms with the pink dot pattern paper. You can use these designs for more party decor such as cupcake toppers, banners and more. It turned out great and we had a wonderful time celebrating.
These two little cousins are going to be the best of friends and I am so excited to see them grow up together. They are such sweet little babies and we love having them in our family.
Reese and Peyton
When my boys were born I was obsessed with taking pictures of them, as I’m sure all new moms are. It was much easier back then when they couldn’t run away from me. It’s a whole new ball game now. ha ha. Anyway, my husband would always roll his eyes when he would come home from work and see what I had dressed the boys in for a little photo shoot. My poor kids had no choice.
After taking pictures of them dressed as cupid for a Valentine card to send to the grandparents, I got the idea to take holiday photos each month and make a calendar at the end of the year. The older they got the harder it was to keep them in the same spot and have them both looking at the camera. I wondered if it was worth it a million times. I’m so glad I stuck with it. It made an adorable Christmas present for the grandparents at the end of the year. All the hard work was spaced throughout the year, so it was a breeze to put together before Christmas. I simply uploaded my photos to Snapfish and inserted them in a simple calendar template and I was done. I wanted to share this little project because it is the beginning of a new year, and the perfect time for you to start gathering ideas and taking photos for your new calendar.
I have some fun Halloween party designs new in the Silhouette online store that I’ll be showing on my blog next week, but today I had to show you my adorable little fox and hound from Halloween last year. Aren’t they just the cutest!
I struggled finding a fox and a hound costume that went together, so I decided to make my own. I am far from a seamstress so I cheated my way through it. I bought white sweats and dyed them the colors I needed (since I also couldn’t find any orange and tan sweats.) Then I cut ears, tails, tummies and spots from felt. I love felt because it doesn’t fray so I don’t need to hem anything. I used coordinating embroidery floss to sew the felt pieces to the sweats and I was done. Once I had the fabric dyed and washed, it only took about two hours to cut and sew the pieces on. So fast!
My boys would crawl away every chance they got. I finally had the brilliant idea of weighing them down with pumpkins. They couldn’t crawl out and thought the pumpkins were cool. Win!
My tired little hound.
My hungry fox.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. We spent Easter at my parents’ house with all the cousins. My mom bought all the grandkids these bunny masks. They kind of look a little creepy in this group shot, but the kids thought they were hilarious. My boys didn’t learn to love them until later this week. Now they run around the house with the masks on giggling at each other.
Mason and Jax even got the hang of the Easter egg hunt. They loved it a lot more when they realized the eggs were filled with candy. These little guys make holidays so much more fun.
Wild man Jax was playing in some water before the hunt and soaked his pants. He didn’t seem to mind not wearing them one bit.
The weather was absolutely perfect today. I put off some design work and we played outside when dad got home. It’s almost impossible to keep up with these little guys when they’re loose outside. It is much easier when there is one adult to every kid. Afternoons outside are usually spent on a walk with these two strapped down in a stroller. Jax found a stick and never put it down. He would zip by us with a proud look on his face. Going from the patio to grass makes Mason a little nervous. It is the cutest thing to watch him carefully step onto the grass and then take off running again. I’m excited for this warm weather and the fun nights outside that come with it.
The mailman is delivering our cards to all our family, and we’re off to deliver Valentines to the neighbors. Happy Valentine’s Day!
I was so excited to see that Silhouette featured my fox on their blog today. I designed these prints to hang in my boys room and love how they turned out. Continue reading
Dr. Seuss’ birthday is March 2 and dressing up is the perfect way to celebrate. The stripe hat and blue hair are both headbands that can be sized perfectly to each head. Complete the Dr. Seuss kit with the fish in bowl from The Cat in the Hat. Continue reading
I wanted to give you a closer look at the pictures I used in the Book Party banner. I printed and framed this as 11×14 and had it on a table next to the party favors. This print also doubled as a thank you card for all the doctors and nurses that helped my boys during pregnancy and the first year of life. I really can not thank them enough. I love these little guys and am so grateful to be their mama.
I have a few new kits available in my portfolio at the Silhouette Online Store this week. One of which is this Book Party Kit that I did for my boys’ first birthday. We celebrated with family and had a wonderful time. Continue reading
