4x6 Mini Album

I feel like Mother’s Day snuck right up on me this year. I can’t believe it is next week. I’ll be sharing some Mother’s Day gift ideas to get the wheels turning until the big day. Since today is National Scrapbook Day, I’m going to start things off with this mini album. It’s fast, easy and involves the entire family. You can’t go wrong there.

I gave every person in the family a card to write a note to my mom. The small grandkids colored her a picture. Then the cards just slipped in the glassine envelopes with a picture of each person. I used black and white pictures from the photo booth at our Valentine party to create unity among all the different cards.

Supplies:

  • 4×6 Mini Album
  • Glassine Envelopes
  • Twine
  • Ribbon
  • Rhinestone
  • Adhesive
  • Pattern Paper
  • Photos

Instructions:

  1. Cut 4×6 Mini Album out of pattern paper.
  2. Using the Mini Album as a guide, punch holes in glassine envelopes.
  3. Bind together with twine.
  4. Insert notes or photos into glassine bags.
  5. Create the flower (included in the 4×6 Mini Album die cut) by gluing all the circles together. Gently crumple the paper in your hands to give the flower texture and dimension. Glue rhinestone on top.
  6. Glue ribbon and flower on top of flap. Be sure the edge of flap can still tuck under the notch to close.

There are many variations of this Mini Album that can be done. It doesn’t just have to be for Mother’s Day. You could cut out the glassine bags completely and just fill your album with photos or postcards from a vacation. I’d love to hear or see any great ideas you have for the 4×6 Mini Album.
